Description

Gypsy Rose Lee

American performer (1911–1970), born Louise Hovick, who raised stripping to a popular and semi-respectable art form. Her life story later formed the basis of the hit musical Gypsy. Stunning vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Lee in a fishnet costume with an elaborate hat and plume, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Gordon, Greetings! Gypsy Rose Lee.” In very good condition, with repaired tear to top portion of image, and scattered creasing, mainly to edges and borders. A particularly classy and enticing image of the burlesque legend! Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
