Color vintage 8.75 x 11.5 full-page magazine photo of Einstein with his pipe clenched in his teeth, removed from an April 11, 1938, issue of Life magazine, signed in the lower border in fountain pen, “Albert Einstein.” Typed caption above signature reads, “To. Dr. Albert Einstein, relativity and quanta are clues to a greater understanding of the laws which govern the universe.” Photo ran opposite a one page article and photos regarding Einstein’s new book entitled The Evolution of Physics. In fine condition, with some light edge chipping and corner tip loss, and a small tear to bottom edge. None of the flaws affect the signature or subject. Einstein was a life member of the Montreal Pipe Smokers Club, and was once quoted as saying: "Pipe smoking contributes to a somewhat calm and objective judgment of human affairs." Quite scarce in color images. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
