Composer (1786-1826). He was a key figure in the development of German Romantic opera and had a considerable influence on Richard Wagner. Uncommon ink signature and inscription, in German, on an off-white 5 x 2 slip clipped from the cover of one of his works, signed “CM vWeber, Dresden 22.X.1823.” In very good condition, with vertical crease to right side, one through a single letter of signature, and light overall soiling, with writing still clear and legible. A nice example of one of the first significant composers of the Romantic school. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
