Jay Gould

Financier well known for his stock market manipulation of railroad securities; he also tried to corner the gold market, causing the “Black Friday” stock market crash of September 1869. Partly-printed DS, one page both sides, 15 x 8, April 26, 1887. Certificate for one hundred shares of the Capital Stock of the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railway Company issued to Gould, signed on the reverse in blue ink. Vertical folds, cancellation stamps and holes, light overall wrinkling, and toning and soiling to reverse, otherwise very good condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
