Land grant issued to Andrew Griffin of Pennsylvania for “the lot on section number twenty eight…by the act of Congress entitled ‘An Act of Congress entitled ‘An Act providing for the sale of the Lands of the United States in the territory north-west of the Ohio and above the mouth of the Kentucky River.’” Signed at the conclusion by Jefferson and countersigned by Secretary of State James Madison. In good to very good condition, with heavy intersecting storage folds, with a vertical fold affecting a single letter of Madison’s signature, a mild overall shade of toning, and moderate foxing to lower portion, affecting most of Madison’s signature, and Jefferson’s signature a few shades light, but still completely legible.
