Six lines in the hand of George Washington on a 9 x 2 slip clipped from a land grant. Washington writes: “the countries of Randolph & Greenbrier which survey begins at a large poplar on the south bank of Elk river, where the line which divides Harrison from Greenbrier cross the River, and running thence North thirty five degrees west eight hundred poles crossing Elk river to a…the ridge which divides.” In fine condition, with a well-done professional repair to an area of paper loss along bottom edge.
