King David Kalakaua

These included myths and legends, and the hula, which had been forbidden by the missionaries for over 70 years. Fountain pen signature, “ Kalakaua R., Aloha Nui oe,” on an off-white 6 x 3.75 card. Cloth matted and framed in koa wood (timber tree indigenous to the Hawaiian Islands), with a portrait of Kalakaua, and a name plaque, to an overall size of 16.5 x 15. In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light toning. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
