Description

“My views on the prohibition question”

TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, State of New York letterhead, May 23, 1932. Letter to Frank Siebenhandel. In part: “Your comments, both on the general political situation and on my own public utterances, make very interesting reading. In connection with your first point I am enclosing a copy of a letter which I wrote in 1930 to Senator Wagner of New York. This was made public at this time and has repeatedly been alluded to, but I find it still necessary to repeat that it represents my views on the prohibition question. I am carefully considering the other points which you make and thank you for your belief that so many members of our party are already favoring my candidacy.” Some mild toning, and some scattered light creases and wrinkles, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
