Postcard from St. Louis’s Castilla restaurant, 5.5 x 3.75, signed on the correspondence side in pencil, “Sincerely, Frank Sinatra,” and also signed in pencil by five others including Tommy Dorsey, Buddy Rich, Red Nichols, Ray Linn, and Jimmy Petrillo. Framed to an overall size of 8 x 6. In fine condition, with some scattered light soiling, and toning to all four corner tips from previous tape. Frank Sinatra made his recording debut with the Harry James band on July 13, 1939. Tommy Dorsey saw Sinatra perform with James' band and hired the young man away to perform with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra. On January 26, 1940, Sinatra made his first public appearance with the Dorsey band at the Coronado Theater in Rockford, Illinois. In 1942, Sinatra left Dorsey, in an incident that started rumors of Sinatra's mob involvement, and made his solo debut in New York City on December 31, 1942. RRAuction COA.
