Seven 5.5 x 3 government postcards, postmarked between May and July of 1959, individually signed in ink by a member of the Mercury 7 crew: Virgil I. Grissom (adding “Capt. USAF, Mercury Astronaut”), Donald K. Slayton, Leroy S. Cooper (ins), Walter W. Schirra (ins, “Lcdr. U. S. Navy, Mercury Astronaut”), M. Scott Carpenter (ins, “Project Mercury”), Alan B. Shepard, Jr. (ins, “Lt. Cdr. U. S. Navy, Mercury Astronaut”), and a brief ALS to Robert, signed “John H. Glenn, Lt. Col. USMC, Project Mercury Astronaut.” In overall very good condition, with moderate mounting remnants to the reverse of each, expected postal cancellations, and scattered light soiling, creasing, and toning, with a few spots of damp staining affecting Schirra’s signature.
