Original hand-inked four-panel Henry daily comic strip, dated January 7, 1954, on a 23 x 7 piece of artist’s cardstock. The strip depicts Henry seeing his mother cry while she peels onions and then crying himself when he comes across onion skin paper. Signed in the fourth panel, “Carl Anderson,” and signed and inscribed in blue felt tip in the lower border, “To John R. Oppel, Best wishes, John Liney.” In very good condition, with scattered light soiling and toning, a few touches of white-out, and expected central vertical fold.
