Essentially impossible-to-find vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Burke as Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To darling Cady, All the lovely things in the world to her, dear lady, Billie.” In very good condition, with light rippling and bending, primarily affecting background, acid free cloth tape tape remnants along top edge of reverse from previous framing, a diagonal crease to background at top, as well as a barely noticeable crease to the midsection of image. Although Burke lived to be 85 years old and was considered a prolific signer, signed photos of Glinda are curiously almost as mythical as the land of Oz, as this is just the second we have offered in 30 years.
