His name later became synonymous with a best-selling brand of antiseptic mouthwash. ALS signed “Lister,” two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.25 x 7, Portland Place letterhead, November 28, 1898. Letter to Sir Archibald, in full: “May I ask you to be so kind as to propose the health of ‘the guests’ at the dinner on Wednesday? Those who are asked to attend are Lord Kitchmer and Lord Curzon. I am not quite sure which of the two will take the precedence, i.e. which will reply first; but I write let you know as soon as this has been ascertained at the Lord Chamberlain’s office.” In fine condition.
