Chandler signs a copy of Farewell, My Lovely

Signed book: Farewell, My Lovely. Reprint edition. NY: Alfred A. Knopf, 1945. Hardcover with dustjacket, 5 x 7.5, 275 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page, “For Maria Mariello, with the hope that she will do much better than I have, Raymond Chandler, May 10, 1945, Hollywood, California.” In very good condition, with damp staining to inside front and back cover (the staining leaving a faint strip along the signed page, touching several words of the inscription), and some light sunning and staining to the spine; the dustjacket exhibits light soiling and wear, toning to edges, and small chips. Scarce in any form! Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
