Description

Extraordinarily rare signed photo of renowned schlockmeister Ed Wood...possibly the only one ever offered!

Colorful American film director and pulp author (1924–1978) who, though widely reviled in his lifetime, became the subject of cult-like fascination after his death. Wood’s reputation, such as it is, rests primarily on a string of films that attained legendary status for their singular combination of laughable production values, ridiculous dialogue, stilted performances, and haphazard direction. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Wood scribbling notes on a film set, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To my friend Earl Kemp, May our association be long and profitable, Edw. D. Wood, Jr., 12/7/65.” Scattered light creases and surface marks, ballpoint number notations to two borders, and a paperclip impression to top edge, otherwise fine condition. Any autograph material from Wood is quite elusive! Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
