Partly-printed vellum DS, in French, signed “Lafayette,” one page, 11.5 x 10.5, July 1790. Brevet appointment issued to Jean Joseph Legeand of Luxembourg in the Battalion Des Filles Saint-Thomas. Signed at the bottom by Lafayette as Commander General, as well as six other officers. Intersecting moderate folds, one through a single letter of signature, scattered toning and soiling, creasing to corners, small pinhole of paper loss at junction of folds, and some light spotting, otherwise very good condition.
