Description

Ernst Bloch

Swiss-born American composer (1880–1959) best known for his large-scale, often Jewish-inflected chamber, orchestral, and choral works. ALS, one page, 8.5 x 11, August 10, 1949. Letter to Dr. F. Roth. In part: “In the very thorough study I am now making of my Concerto Symph. I have discovered a few minor omissions in my own score and I think it wise to send them to you, hoping that it is still time to include them in the scores and parts. As you will see, these are mere details and any serious conductor could not be embarrassed by them, but it is better to be on the ‘safe side.’” In very good condition, with small hole to top left, scattered toning and creasing, a bit heavier to edges, and some small edge tears.
