ALS signed “J. Tyler,” one page, lightly-lined, 7.5 x 10, February 27, 1848. Letter to William Benson. In part: “When I last saw you & promised to give you directions through Mr. Gardiner as to the time and manner of sending me the chair which you have so long had for me and I write now to say that Mr. Gardiner has my wishes and instructions which he will communicate to you. Be pleased to remember me…to that promising son who called on me the morning of my departure from New York.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, one bisecting signature, some scattered light toning, and several small scattered ink blots and brushes, including a couple small ones to signature.
