American juvenile actress (1958–1976) best known for her role as Buffy on the popular television series Family Affair. After the series ended, and with her career at a standstill—she auditioned unsuccessfully for the role in The Exorcist that went to Linda Blair—Jones was sent to juvenile hall as a runaway, failed to finish high school, and fell in with dubious company. She died in her sleep at the age of 18 from an overdose described by the coroner as the worst he had ever seen. Scarce glossy 8 x 10 photo of the young star sipping a ice cream float, signed and inscribed in black felt tip “To Alfred, Anissa Jones ‘Buffy.’” In fine condition, with light impressions to lower border from writing on reverse.
