Italian composer (1858–1919) best known for his operas, particularly the beloved repertoire staple I Pagliacci (1892). Very nice original vintage 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet profile portrait by Guigoni and Bossi of Milan, and so stamped on the reverse, signed under his image in fountain pen, “R. Leoncavallo 21.12.1901.” In fine condition, with some scattered light foxing, primarily to background, and a few light surface marks to facial area. RRAuction COA.
