Caruso signs for his salary at the Royal Opera House after performing La Traviata and Fedora

DS, one page, 5 x 8, July 3, 1907. Pay receipt for Caruso’s appearances at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, with Caruso acknowledging payment of £350.0.0 for two evening performances of La Traviata and Fedora by signing at the conclusion, “Enrico Caruso” Double matted and framed with a photo of Caruso in costume as Canio—the famous role of the clown leader in the opera Pagliacci, to an overall size of 15.5 x 13. In fine condition, with light bisecting horizontal fold, slight show-through from stamp on reverse, and two small puncholes to body, not affecting overall presentation. The first Caruso document we have ever offered and a nice relation between the well-known opera house and one of history’s greatest performers. RRAuction COA.
