Racing great signs at the start of his tragically short-lived career

One of the greatest pre-war Grand Prix drivers from Britain, at the age of 26 Seaman crashed his car during a turn in the 1939 Belgian Grand Prix and died a few hours later. Vintage 5.5 x 3.5 German postcard photo of the cars on the starting line at the 1936 Eifelrace, signed in black ink, “Richard Seaman, Eifelreimer 1936.” In fine condition, with paperclip impression to left edge, scattered light creases, green ink notation in lower corner, and signature a shade light. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
