Gordon “Pawnee Bill” Lillie

American showman (1860–1942) who began his career as a trapper and Pawnee interpreter and later became a partner in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. Bank check, 8.5 x 3, filled out and signed by Lillie, “G. W. Lillie, Mang’t,” payable to Mrs. Gordon W. Lillie for $1000.00, August 1, 1917. Lillie also makes the notation, “Pawnee Bill’s Pioneer Days,” above his signature. Endorsed on the reverse by his wife, May Lillie. Bisecting vertical fold, cancellation holes to body, and some mild toning and creasing, otherwise fine condition. RRAuction COA.
