TLS in Hebrew, signed “D. Ben-Gurion,” one page, 8.25 x 6.5, July 5, 1948. Letter to the first settlers of Kibbutz Yesodot. In full: “Your settlement on the grounds at the foot of the mountains of Judah is at this time a blessing in itself. It is also assisting, both directly and indirectly, to the war effort of our people striving for the redemption of the territories leading to Jerusalem and the freeing of the Holy City as the capital of the state of Israel.” In very good condition, with intersecting mailing folds, two torn punch holes to bottom edge, and some scattered light creasing and toning.
