Fountain pen signature, “Ty Cobb, July 18-50,” on an off-white 5 x 3 card. Accompanied by two mailing envelopes: one addressed in Cobb’s hand to the lucky recipient of Cobb’s highly sought-after autograph; the other is the recipient’s envelope addressed to Cobb in Lake Tahoe (which was returned for bearing the wrong address). Perhaps jesting and showing his smart-alecky side, Cobb actually crossed out the bad address and wrote on the envelope, in pencil, “Lake Tahoe is in two states California and Nevada and is 78 miles around, many in population and at least 20 different Post Offices.” In fine condition with some scattered light toning.
