Description

Herbert Hoover

TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, July 16, 1937. Hoover writes to Mrs. George Lorimer, wife of the editor-in-chief of the Saturday Evening Post. In part; “I am writing a little piece for the Atlantic Monthly…. It is so much on the philosophical and high-brow side that the character of the article would probably not attract the interest of the Saturday Evening Post but might do for the old Atlantic. My purpose is to clear up some of the points you raise and to advance the suggestion … of the complete necessity for the Republican Party to establish what it stands for. It seems to me that in September we must get down to some fundamental concepts for which we must stand….” Intersecting mailing folds and mild handling wear, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
