South American revolutionary and politician (1795–1830) who was a close associate of Simón Bolivar and who succeeded Bolivar as President of Bolivia. ALS in Spanish, signed “A. J. de Sucre,” one page, 8 x 10.5, government letterhead, January 13, 1825. An untranslated communication to the Minister of War, evidently involving a personnel matter. In good condition, with scattered light toning and staining, a few small tears and holes, ink a bit faded, and letter mounted to a slightly larger piece of mat board. RRAuction COA.
