An unfortunate casualty of some of Hollywood’s more dubious attractions, John Belushi is still a principal among comedic immortals. Here offered is a 5.75 x 3 “slip” on which Belushi saw fit to provide for a travel mate his name and address. We discern the story from the little evidence we have available: apparently, the man sitting next to the SNL star was Howard P. James, President of the Sheraton Corporation (first class seating, no doubt). We imagine a barter of colorful anecdotes, until the two felt it appropriate to exchange information, this off-white page comprising Mr. James’ copy. On it, Belushi writes his name and Village apartment address to read, “John Belushi—376 Bleeker—NYC, NY—10014.” Then, as we’re sure is the practice of savvy businessmen, Mr. James notes the circumstance of this presumably chance encounter as he writes, “Seat partner aboard jet to N. York from LA—1978.” A few minor wrinkles and a vertical fold through “Belushi” are mentioned only for the sake of accuracy in description. An interesting association from the height of Belushi’s fame! RRAuction COA.
