Signing Liszt’s transcription of Wagner

Distinguished Czech composer (1824–1884) best known for his colorful symphonic poem The Moldau and the opera The Bartered Bride. Early printing of “Elsa’s Brautgang zum Münster” from Zwei Stücke aus R. Wagner’s Tannhäuser und Lohengrin für das Pianoforte by Franz Liszt (Leipzig: Breitkopf & Härtel, no year [but 1853]), signed in ink at the top of the title page “B. Smetana.” Housed in a handsome custom half-leather and marbled paper binding measuring 10 x 11.5 overall. In fine, bright condition. A unique association among these three composers!
