Outstanding matte-finish Edmonston photo of a seated Wilson, neatly trimmed in size to 7.5 x 9.75, signed and inscribed in ink (very likely as President) in the lower margin “Mrs. Carrie Edwards Hemphill, with regards from Woodrow Wilson.” Though undated, the image is so clear that one can read the first two typed lines on the sheet of paper on the table: “Department of State, Washington, D.C.,” establishing the strong likelihood that the photo was taken and signed while Wilson was in the White House, between 1913 and 1919. Trimming as noted, and a hint of subtle silvering to perimeter, otherwise fine, fresh condition. JSA/John Reznikoff Auction LOA and RRAuction COA.
