Description

“I deeply regret ... the supply of season passes for 1915 has been entirely exhausted”

Major League Baseball player, manager and team owner (1859-1931). He was a key player in the formation of the American League and later owned the Chicago White Sox. Comiskey Park, Chicago's storied baseball stadium, was built under his guidance and named for him. TLS signed “Chas. A. Comiskey,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Chicago White Sox letterhead, May 27, 1915. Comiskey writes to a Chicago resident about season passes. In part: “I deeply regret, however, at this time the supply of season passes for 1915 has been entirely exhausted, and it will be some time before we receive a new supply. However, I will keep your application on file and as soon as they are received, will advise you.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds (vertical fold through signature), staple holes, scattered toning, and a few edge dings. JSA/Mike Gutierrez Auction LOA and RRAuction COA.
