Handmade vintage autograph album, circa 1940s, comprising nine 5 x 6.25 leaves with more than 60 mostly clipped ink and pencil signatures machine-sewn to both sides; a small percentage of the signatures are written on the pages themselves. Among the more prominent signers: C[harlie] Barnet, Phil Barton, Kay Warren, Tommy Dorsey (and several orchestra members), Ziggy Elman, Stuart Foster, Balo Fuske, Charlie Shavers, Larry Hall, Jack Dougherty, Sandy Blorer, Sam Herman, Arnie Olsen, Sid Cooper, Freddy Martin, Gene Krupa (and several orchestra members, including Gerry Mulligan and Warren Covington), Spike Jones (and several orchestra members), Duke Ellington, Claude Jones, Wilbur de Paris, Johnny Hodges, Sam Nanton, Taft Jordan, Cat Anderson, Francis Williams, Albert Hibbler, Shelton Hemphill, and the Mills Brothers. In good condition, with scattered soiling, wrinkling, and handling wear, close and/or irregular trimming to some signatures, and stitching touching some signatures (only slightly affecting legibility).
