Lovely color satin-finish 3 x 4 photo on a 4.25 x 5.5 heavy card mount, signed in ink on the mount “Charles 1986” and “Diana.” Accompanied by the original presentation letter, addressed to Captain J. M. D. Jacques” and signed by David Roycroft, Assistant Private Secretary to H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, May 4, 1986. In full: “The Prince and Princess of Wales have asked me to pass on their warmest thanks to all the members of the Boeing 707 crew involved in the royal flight from London to Vancouver on 30th April. Their Royal Highnesses have asked me to forward with their very best wishes the enclosed photograph as a memento of a most enjoyable and comfortable flight....” Jacques was the navigator on the flight to Canada for the royal couple’s visit from April 30 to May 7, 1986, during which they attended the World’s Fair (Expo 86) in Vancouver. Also included is a unsigned specially printed lunch menu from the London-to-Victoria leg of the flight and a softcover souvenir book titled The 1986 Visit to Canada of the Their Royal Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Wales. The photo is housed in its handsome original green leather frame with Charles’s gilt-stamped three-feather crest and arched top measuring 5.25 x 7.5 overall. In very fine, spotless condition.
