Giacomo Meyerbeer

German-born composer (1791–1864) best known for such operas as Les Hugenots and Robert le Diable. ALS in French, signed “Meyerbeer,” one page, 7.75 x 12, no date. Meyerbeer writes to writer and critic Jules Jeanin [Janin], saying that he has returned to Paris and would like to arrange a meeting, and mentioning Monsieur Armand Bertin. The adjacent leaf bears the address panel, including a second signature “Meyerbeer.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, creasing and wrinkling, scattered soiling and staining, and a few small tears.
