Description

Aaron Burr

LS signed “A. Burr,” one page, 8 x 10.25, February 24, 1828. Burr writes from New York to Mrs. Bradstrett. In part: “On my return I met at the same time the finale of the farce of T&C which really appeared to me so trifling and so unimportant to yourself & to Mr. T. that I did not perceive how I could answer your letter with sufficient gravity & expressions of sympathy. Now that the excitement is past, I may hope to be pardoned for this levity. As to the residue of your letters, relating to some important business, not explained, I can only at present say that my best advice is always at your command….” Matted with an image and plaque to an overall size of 16 x 13. Intersecting folds and light wrinkling and handling wear, otherwise fine condition. RRAuction COA.
