Eminent French artist (1869–1954), most closely associated with the Fauvist movement, best known for his colorful paintings, fluid drawings, and bold, distinctive cut-paper collages. In part, “I have received a few words from David Tennant regarding his painting L’Atelier, which is exhibited in the Gargoyle Club. He would like to lend it out under my conditions…He is waiting for a letter from you with further details…” In fine condition, with intersecting mailing folds, one through a single letter of signature, and a small repaired separation along horizontal fold, affecting nothing.
