Prolific and prodigiously talented French Romantic composer (1835–1921) of such timeless works as the “Organ” Symphony, the opera Samson et Dalila, and the perennial concert favorite Carnival of the Animals. ALS in French, signed “C. Saint-Saëns,” four pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, black-bordered stationery, June 15, 1890. Saint-Saëns writes to an unnamed general and mentions an invitation from the French president. In fine condition. RRAuction COA.
