Pioneering American photographer and photojournalist (1904–1971) whose iconic photo of the Fort Peck Dam graced the first cover of Life magazine. Inaugural issue of Life magazine, November 23, 1936, featuring Bourke-White’s photo of the Fort Peck Dam in Montana, inscribed indistinctly and signed in ink “Maggie Bourke-White.” Matted and framed to an overall size of 14.25 x 18.25. In fair condition, with fading to cover from exposure to light, handling wear with creases and scratches (light scratch to first name), and inscription partly eradicated by scraping.
