Description

“I guess maybe Old Abe liked to watch”

Two items: 1) Undated ALS to Ernie signed “Blaze Starr,” adding a nude self-portrait and several other small sketches, detailing a liaison with JFK. In part (her spelings retained): “I told J.F.K. about my fanticy with the Lincoln Bedroom. He said, let’s go. Jackie was away on a cruise. After about an hour J.F. K. had to leave for a meeting…. I got dressed and was redoing my make up when I noticed a life size statue, (I thought), standing in a corner, of President Lincoln. He had on a tall black hat, dark suit, and a white shirt…. As we were leaving I turned and jokeingly said, thank you President Lincoln for the use of your bedroom. There was nothing there. I froze in my tracks…. I guess maybe Old Abe liked to watch….” 2) glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed in black felt tip, “With love and lust, Blaze Starr.” The items are matted and framed together to an overall size of 26.25 x 19.25. In fine condition. RRAuction COA. Oversized.
