Renowned college football coach (1908–1973) who, after serving as an assistant at Georgetown, Michigan State, and Fordham, became head coach at Boston College. In 1941, he became head coach and athletic director at Notre Dame, his alma mater. In his 13 years at Notre Dame, Leahy’s teams won 107 games, lost 13, and tied 9.
