Taney,” one page, 4.75 x 7.25, March 6, 1856. Taney writes from Washington to A. P. Lynn Cochran at Princeton College. In full: “As you are pleased to suppose my autograph worth having—I take pleasure in addressing this note to you to comply with your request….” In very good condition, with letter affixed to slightly larger sheet, light wrinkling and rippling, tear to top edge (stabilized by mounting) and mild soiling.
