Revered Norwegian playwright and poet (1828–1906) whose works, including A Doll’s House and Hedda Gabler, made him one of the seminal figures in the forefront of modern drama. Elusive 2.5 x 4 CDV photo, a seated chest-length image of the bewhiskered Ibsen wearing a watch and holding a cane, signed in ink on the reverse, “Henrik Ibsen.” Slight trimming to bottom edge of mount, otherwise very fine, exceptionally preserved condition.
