Eminent American-born British writer (1888–1965), winner of the 1948 Nobel Prize in Literature, best known for such works as the epic poem The Waste Land and the plays Murder in the Cathedral and The Cocktail Party. Signed book: Four Quartets. First American edition, later printing. NY: Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1943. Hardcover, 5.75 x 8.5, 39 pages. Signed and inscribed in ink on the title page, “Inscribed for Eleanor Wood Prince by T. S. Eliot.” A hint of subtle rubbing to covers and slight bumping to spine ends, otherwise fine condition. Signed copies of this, one of Eliot’s most notable works, are uncommon. RRAuction COA.
