Praising his Vice President “My only regret is that the exactions of my office life prevent my seeing much of the people we most esteem”

TLS as president, one page, 6.5 x 8.5, White House letterhead, June 25, 1914. Letter of thanks to Vice President Thomas Marshall. In full: “It was very gracious of Mrs. Marshall and you to think of us on our wedding anniversary and Mrs. Wilson joins me in sending our most cordial messages of deep appreciation and of sincere regard. It has been a pleasure to both of us to be associated with Mrs. Marshall and you. My only regret is that the exactions of my office life prevent my seeing much of the people we most esteem.” Double matted and framed with a Pach Bros. portrait of Wilson, to an overall size of 18.75 x 14.75. In fine condition, with Wilson’s signature a bit light, but completely legible, small pencil notation at top, and a couple trivial creases. JSA/John Reznikoff Auction LOA and RRAuction COA.
