Description

AMERICAN INVASION: HENDRIX, MITCHELL, and REDDING sign together in London a month before their historic performance at the Monterey Pop Festival

Program for an appearance by the Jimi Hendrix Experience at a “Brian Epstein Presents” concert at London’s Saville Theater on May 7, 1967, 6 x 9.5, signed in ballpoint on their full-page photo by all three: “Best wishes, Jimi Hendrix”; “Mitch, Good Luck”; and “Noel Redding.” At the time of signing, Hendrix was already a superstar in Europe (where he had met and joined forces with Mitchell and Redding) but virtually unknown in the United States. American audiences would first glimpse his genius a month later, on June 18, when his famous performance at the Monterey Pop Festival—followed by the ritual on-stage immolation of his guitar—propelled him to the forefront of rock and roll and set him on the path to one of the most brilliant, if tragically brief, careers in the history of modern music. A touch of very mild edge wear and incidental soiling to covers, otherwise fine, fresh, beautifully preserved condition. Tracks COA, JSA/Roger Epperson (REAL) Auction LOA and RRAuction COA.
