Official Reach (Harridge) baseball signed in fountain pen on the side panels by 17 members of the 1936 Olympic baseball team: Clarence Keegan, Carson Thompson, Les McNeese, Ron Hibbard, R. N. Carlson, Bill Sayles, Dow Wilson, Paul Aames, Dot Whalen, Hubert Shaw, “Tex” Fore, Harry Walters, Charles Simmons, Dick Hanna, Fred Heringer, and Grover Galvin. A notation in an unknown hand on one side panel reads, “Olympic Games, Berlin Germany ‘1936’ 15/8/36.” Baseball was a demonstration sport at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany and featured a single game. The single exhibition game was played on August 12, 1936, prior to the track and field competitions between two American teams. The single-nation arrangement had been made after the original matchup between Japan the United States was scrapped after the Japanese team withdrew. The two teams were named the World Champions and the U. S. Olympics. The World Champions won 6–5 in front of 90,000 spectators in Berlin's Olympic Stadium. In fine condition, with a mild overall shade of toning, and a bit of trivial skipping to a couple of signatures. RRAuction COA.
