Menu from a luncheon held in honor of Lindbergh by the American Chamber of Commerce at the Casino Nacional in Havana, 8.5 x 11, February 11, 1928, signed and inscribed on the cover in fountain pen, “To Mr. Hugo Hartenstein, Sincerely, C. A. Lindbergh, Feb. 12, 1928.” The cover bears crossed Cuban and American flags. One panel of the interior bears a large halftone photo of Lindy posing with the Spirit of St. Louis; the opposite menu panel bears an affixed printed table placard reading “Señor President Camara de Comercio Americana.” Lindbergh was then in Cuba near the end of an extended Latin-American goodwill tour that had begun in the previous December. It was during the Mexican leg of the tour, a few months before he arrived in Cuba, that Lindbergh met Anne Morrow, who became his wife in 1929. A touch of light toning and soiling to edges of cover from previous display, light offsetting to interior from photo, and mounting remnants to back cover, otherwise fine condition. Handsome for display! RRAuction COA.
