Highly regarded French/Polish artist (1908–2001) best known for his imaginative, anti-modernist figurative works, including a series of controversial eroticized images of young girls. Original vintage ink sketch of an enigmatic figure on an off-white 6.5 x 5.5 album page, signed “Balthus” and dated July 12, 1953. The page has also been signed by Balthus’ wife, Marie Laure, the artist Dominguez, Dora Maar, and one other. In fine condition overall, with a hint of subtle toning, faint show-through from scribble on reverse, and small smudges to drawing and Dominguez’s signature. RRAuction COA.
