Duane Allman

Duane Allman (1946–1971), a session musician and founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, is regarded as one of the most masterful and influential guitarists in rock history. He was killed in a motorcycle accident at the age of 24. Business check, drawn on The Allman Brothers Band general account, 8.25 x 3.25, filled out and signed by Allman, payable to Minneapolis Musicians Association for $2.10, April 1, 1970. Memo line reads, “Work Dues—Minneapolis.” In fine condition, with bank stamp to center lightly affecting beginning of signature and slight show-through from stamps on reverse.
