It is good to know that in the heart of America there is such a high appreciation of the kind of wholesome story Sterling North wove into ‘So Dear to My Heart’….” The film, which starred Bobby Driscoll as a boy who raises a “champion” black lamb, premiered in Chicago on November 29, 1948 and went into wide release in January of the following year.
